Cocktail before training

When drinking cocktail before workout you need to understand what the body needs at this time. Most nutritionists recommend consuming proteins and carbs before workout and complete elimination of fats.

Let’s try to understand why they recommend this.

Why are proteins needed? The muscles during exercising do not grow; amino acids (proteins) have to be used as energy source. Therefore, it is not necessary to use protein in priority quantity.

Why are carbs need? They are used as energy. But fast carbs are not suitable, they reduce efficiency by the end of training (because of strong increase in level of insulin). Only slow carbs are necessary.

Why are fats needed? The goal of any effective workout is to increase the level of hormones in the body (in "natural" training). The main raw material for hormones is fat. Why they are not need at the crucial moment is not clear. They are definitely needed. The proof of this is high performance of "fat" cocktail after workout. But bodybuilders who use anabolic steroids really should give up fats (about the reasons at another time).

The conclusion is following - few hours before workout (or even closer), it is necessary to use slow carbs and moderate amount of fat. The food should be fast utilizable.

15 minutes before training drink such cocktail:

  1. Water - 100 grams.
  2. Natural coffee - 3 teaspoons.
  3. Cream - 50 gram.
  4. Beet fructose - at taste.
  5. Starch or equivalent (optional) - tsp.

The drink is prepared as an ordinary coffee.

Coffee provides the necessary energy, cream (fat and protein) is necessary for the formation of hormones, which are actively absorbed by muscles during workout. The drink is quickly absorbed and does not disturb in the stomach.
